Founded in 1998 and privately held, Nivis is the world leader in secure, standards based wireless sensing and control networks. The company has an innovative, differentiated product line with strong intellectual property protection and an efficient, flexible sourcing, production and delivery infrastructure. It has built strong relationships with more than 20 leading manufacturers of industrial and Smart Grid control and production systems globally, and now sell products in 27 countries.

The company’s product portfolio is comprised of standards-based wireless communications systems, including radio nodes, routers and management software, as well a complete software stack for native communications. We focus on Smart Grid technology, which is expanding rapidly with the growth of the ‘Internet of Things’.

As an early entrant with a significant technical investment, Nivis enjoys a strong market position. Our strategy from the beginning has been to support open standards. We are active in the standards bodies and are viewed as key experts in developing the leading standards in use today: ISA100.11a, WirelessHART, and Smart Object.

ISA100.11a and WirelessHART customers:

Effective June 1st 2015 NIVIS has transferred its industrial wireless technology portfolio (ISA100 Wireless and Wireless Hart) to Control Data Systems (www.cds.ro), a technology company based in Romania that specializes in wireless communications for industrial applications. Going forward, CDS has assumed the responsibilities that come from maintaining the two technologies - ISA100 Wireless and Wireless Hart - and the corresponding products. These include the development, support, manufacturing, warranty, repair and certification activities. This transaction will allow NIVIS to dedicate exclusively to perfecting its Smart Objects technology, which has direct applicability in the Smart Grid market.
